Female leaders from 13 countries will discuss the issues of peace in Volgograd
On April 22, 2013, the Second International Women’s Forum “Dialogue without borders” started its work in Volgograd (Russia), its organizers being the administration of Volgograd and Volgograd Women Council.
For the first time the women’s forum, which aim is the development of cooperation among women’s organizations from different cities and countries, exchange of experience, strengthening of the positive image of a woman in power, took place in the city on the Volga in March 2012. More than 250 female leaders from Russia, France, Germany, Lithuania, Italy, and Nigeria took part in its work.
The forum was spoken about on the international level and resulted in the adoption of a resolution which confirmed the creation on the territory of Volgograd of the international and intermunicipal resource center to serve as a permanent site for the meetings of women-leaders from the municipalities of twin and partner cities of Volgograd.
This year Volgograd receives women-leaders from 12 countries of the world. The Second International Women’s forum is held in Volgograd within the framework of the great festivities dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. The theme of the forum is “Women of the world for the world without violence!”
The work of the forum incudes the plenary session and the sections on the following themes: “Women and politics: tendencies and perspectives”, “International experience of women’s organizations providing for peace and safety”, “Women-entrepreneurs: experience exchange and mutual help”, “Female labor market in post-crisis period”, “The ways to resolve the problems of violence in relation to women and children”, “A healthy woman – a healthy nation”
During the days of the forum, the meetings with the leaders of Volgograd and public organizations are planned, as well as the visits to social and educational establishments and places of interest connected with the history of the city.
